This man is one of the people on the subway when Maisie Hill asks them for some spare change. This man is standing in the corner reading a magazine and apparently enjoying it quite a lot.
He appears in Sandman # 32, page 13, panel 2 on the right side of the panel.
Max took an interesting approach to this character. Max’s portrait makes the guy seem older than the impression I got in the published comic. He also seems a little more serious or unhappy than when he was reading the magazine on the subway. The details on this portrait are awesome. He looks like he could be a real person and that is amazing.
