Japanese Boy # 1 (illustrated by Lars Brown)

After the death of The Monk, the Fox vowed revenge against the Onmyoji.

The Fox appeared before her rival, as a beautiful woman who immediately captured his heart.

He visited her house and she invited him to dine with her.

He expressed his love and desire for her, but she said that she could not be with him because he has a house and wife and mistress and even if she gave herself to him he may one day leave her to return to his own house. She also said that she also would never be able to trust him if she knew that he commanded Tengu and Oni and had in his possession the scrolls that could change her into a bird if she displeased him.

To win the heart of this woman, the Onmyoji put all of the scrolls and books in a cart and delivered them to the woman and burned his house, along with the other house he owned on the outskirts of a neighborhood of ill repute, where three women lived, who had advised him in magics and fate.

This boy was one of the people on the streets in the poor neighborhood where the hovel was burned to the ground. It is said that the only remains found in that house were those of small children and babies.

This boy appears in the P. Craig Russell version of Dream Hunters in issue # 4, on page 20, in panel 2.

The Cobweb palace was opened in 1856. The saloon was popular with sailors, locals, and tourists. The bar was said to have been filled with cobwebs (because Warner refused to kill spiders), as well as cages filled with exotic animals, including monkeys and parrots. Warner also had a collection of nude paintings, some of which were hung in the saloon. Abraham Warner died in 1896 and the bar closed in 1897.
