Harvey (illustrated by Lars Brown)

Richard Madoc made a deal with Erasmus Fry, an elderly author, to give him the muse Calliope in exchange for a bezoar. Richard needed a muse to help him with his writers block.

Once Richard took possession of and raped Calliope, he began writing again.

His second book was released in May 1987 and was successful.

In June 1987 he met Harvey discussing the movie rights to his book. He told Harvey that the only way he would write the screenplay for the movie would be if he could direct the movie as well. Harvey told him that it would be impossible.

In April 1989, after continued success, Harvey and Richard have another conversation, in which Harvey tells him that the film company has agreed to his initial offer to write and direct the film version of one of his books. Richard tells him that it’s too late because he has already signed a three-film deal in the US.

Harvey appears in Sandman # 17, on page 12, panel 2 and on page 13, panel 2.
