The Creeper’s Dream Lover (illustrated by Max Rugers)

When The Creeper breaks into the quiet house in “The Brambles” he is immediately overcome with a living dream. He feels himself in the embrace of an imaginary lover…as if she were a dream.

“He can feel the warm tightness of her skin; the scent of her sex is heavy in the air. Her lips taste of roses and passion, and she holds him like her life depends on it.”

This dream lover is a result of Rachel’s abuse of the sand contained within Morpheus’ pouch , which was stolen by Ruthven Sykes in 1930.

The Creeper’s Dream Lover appears in Sandman # 3, on page 6, in panel 5.

Max did a great job with this portrait. I really like the colors and the details and how he drew her with a “sexy” expression on her face and yet it still looks cracked, as if she is not solid in our reality.
