Gaius Cassius Longinus

Gaius Cassius Longinus was a soldier for Rome and held several appointed offices, but he is probably best known as one of the conspirators in the assassination plot to kill Julius Caesar.

Aside from appearing in Sandman # 30 , entitled “August,” on page 13 panel 5, Gaius Cassius Longinus also appears in at least two other prominent literary works, William Shakespeare’s play “Julius Caesar” and Dante Alighieri’s “Inferno”.
