Dreamer # 17 (illustrated by John Carmine)

As Dream battles John Dee, in order to prevent the destruction of the dream world, all of the sleepers of the world are affected by the instability of dreams.

This man is one of the many people who is asleep and feels the horrifying effects of Dream’s struggle to regain his stolen ruby. His sleep is haunted with the darkest nightmares.

This Dreamer appears in Sandman # 7, on page 14, in panel 4.

One thing that really impresses me with this portrait is that I can almost sense the nightmares on this man’s face. The line work around his eyes give me the impression that his sleep is troubled. John did a great job with this portrait. The character is a major character in the Sandman series, but John gave him life through this wonderful portrait.
