Psychopomp’s Advisor (illustrated by Max Rugers)

When Cluracan is sent to Aurelia to prevent an alliance between the people of the Cities Of The Plains he expected to see a city of wonder and majesty, but instead he found a city in poverty and the citizens destitute as a result of their corrupt ruler.

As he approached the capitol Cluracan notices that there are citizen protesting.

As he stands before the the Psychopomp, Carnifex Carys XXXV he overhears the ruler’s advisor that the citizens of the plains are poor and will not tolerate another tax. The Carnifex justifys this request for additional money claiming that, first, it’s not a tax, but a ticket to their pain-free afterlife and secondly they will do what he tells them to do.

This man is the Psychopomp’s advisor.

He appears in Sandman # 52, on page 8, in panels 2-5 and page 12, in panel 3.
