Money Boy (illustrated by Max Rugers)

As Rose sleeps and the dream vortex spirals out of control her roommates have wild dreams and nightmares revealing their inner most desires and fears.

Ken, Barbie’s husband, dreams of sex and money and power. This nightmarish image of “Money Boy” occupies his dreams.

Money Boy appears in Sandman # 16 on page 4.

This is a very haunting portrait from Max. The chaos and frantic nature makes this one of the most frightening portraits Max has drawn so far. I will admit, the look in his eyes reminds me of Leland Palmer from Twin Peaks as Bob further infects his consciousness. Perhaps that adds a level of creepiness to this portrait.
