Student # 4 (illustrated by Lars Brown)

In Worlds’ End, Brant Tucker wandered the halls of the free house and found himself in a room with a man saying that he was a Seeker and was trying to find the world where Prez Rickard became the President Of The United States.

Prez Rickard was an exceptional person and even as a boy he took pride in his country. He knew that when he was older he was destined to be President.

This student was one of Prez Rickard’s classmates when he was a young boy.

He appears in Sandman # 54, on page 3, in panel 3.

Undercut Patron # 22 (illustrated by Carl Sciacchitano)

In Death: The High Cost Of Living, Death and Sexton spend the afternoon wandering around New York and end up that evening at a club called The Undercut, prior to a concert. This concert is the first concert Foxglove performed, before becoming an international success.

As Didi and Sexton approach the club in the taxi, this man is standing at the top of the stairs as people enter the club.

He appears in Death: The High Cost Of Living # 2 on page 7 in panel 3.

Thing That Walked The Earth # 3 (illustrated by Kai Martin)

In the time of the Monk and the fox, there were many Things That Walked The Earth that “we rarely see today. There were all manner of entities, beings, wraiths, and creatures, both kind and malevolent.”

This is one of the Things That Walked The Earth.

It appears in the P. Craig Russell version of Dream Hunters, in issue # 1 on page 22, in panel 1.

This is a fantastic portrait from Kai. The details on this creature’s wings and head are exceptional. I love the menacing look in his eyes. This creature definitely is something that could be seen as a feared beast.

He goes into the inn to seek medical attention for his friend. As he enters through the front door everyone close by turns to look at the new arrival.

Resident Of The Dreaming # 14 (illustrated by Max Rugers)

After a family gathering, Dream decides that perhaps he was a bit rash in condemning Nada, his one-time lover, to Hell for spurning his affection.

He gathers together the residents of his realm to let them know he is about to go to Hell in an attempt to rescue Nada.

This is one of the people who gathered to listen to Dream.

He appears in Sandman # 22, on page 5, in panel 4.

I absolutely love this portrait from Max. This character is dark and mysterious and incredibly intriguing. I love the spirals in her hair and her wild appearance. The red backgrounds contrast nicely with the darkness of the character. This portrait really stands out and is probably one of my favorite portraits from Max so far.

Citizen Of Barbie’s World # 22 (illustrated by Lars Brown)

After Barbie smashes the Porpentine against the Heirogram on the Isle Of Thorns, Dream is summoned to destroy her world. As dictated in the terms of his compact, perhaps with Alianora, he welcomes the citizens of Barbie’s world back into the dark folds of his cloak before un-creating the world.

This character is one of the many citizens of Barbie’s world.

He appears in Sandman # 36, page 34, panel 2.

Garrett Sanford (illustrated by Mike DeCarlo)

Garrett Sanford was one of the early incarnations of the super hero known as The Sandman.

He was a doctor and an expert in dreams and found himself trapped in the Dream Dimension, created by Brute and Glob during Dream’s imprisonment. He helped protect the dreams of Jed Walker, brother of Rose Walker. At one point, Garrett Sanford worked with the Justice League to fight Doctor Destiny (in Justice League Annual # 1).

Overtime, his imprisonment drove him insane and he eventually killed himself.

His body was then used by Hector Hall, who became the third incarnation of the Sandman.

Garrett Sanford appeared, as The Sandman in Sandman # 1-6, written by Michael Fleisher and illustrated by Jack Kirby. This comic was published by DC between 1974-1976. In Sandman, he appears in Sandman # 12, on page 20, in panel 4.

Mike did a great job with this portrait. I like that he brought the super hero attitude from the 70’s into this portrait. The colors he used were not necessarily accurate to the Sandman costume from the 70’s. but reflect the colors used in Sandman # 12.

Here is the Garrett Sanford Sandman…
