Babylonian Woman # 8 (illustrated by Lars Brown)

In Brief Lives, while discussing prostitution and the sex industry, Nancy tells Ishtar and Tiffany about the Babylonian women she had learned about in a class.

Every Babylonian woman went into the Temple Of Ishtar and waited for a man to come to them. They would give them a coin and the women would go into one of the temple rooms and make love to them. Once they had made love, they were free to leave the temple and begin their lives.

Ishtar commented that that after awhile this ritual began to decay and fall to the wayside. She considered this ritual to be one of the most important and terrifying rituals of the civilization for both men and women because they were to give themselves up to lust and previously unknown pleasures.

This woman is one of the Babylonian women waiting in the temple courtyard.

Taxi Driver At Lux (illustrated by Xaveria)

In The Kindly Ones, Lyta Hall goes out to dinner with Eric Needham at an upscale restaurant called Lux, which is owned by Lucifer.

Lyta takes a taxi to the restaurant. This man is the taxi driver who drops Lyta off at Lux.

He appears in Sandman # 57, on page 17, in panel 1.

Village Musician # 1 (illustrated by John Rapone)

In the Desire story in Endless Nights, Kara was in love with the son of the chief of the village.

After the death of the Chief, the village honored his life with three days of celebrations.

This musician played music during the funeral celebrations.

He appears in Endless Nights, in the Desire story, on page 12, in panel 1.

Steadfast City Leader # 3 (illustrated by Kai Martin)

Prez Rickard was an exceptional boy who would eventually become the youngest President Of The United States Of America.

When he was a teenager his mother lost sight of him in the center of town.

She eventually found him several hours later in the town hall talking with the city leaders about civics and answering their questions in a manner that impressed them.

This woman is one of the city leaders of Steadfast.

She appears in Sandman # 54, on page 4, in panel 3.

Spooky Bird (illustrated by Lars Brown)

After the death of Ezra Paulson, Jed Walker was sent to live with Clarice and Barnaby.

Clarice and Barnaby emotionally and physically abused Jed. He was forced to spend a lot of time in their basement with the rats.

Jed started escaping into his dreams, where Brute and Glob had created a new Dream world.

Jed helped Hector and Lyta Hall fight villians and go on adventures.

One of the villians they encountered was The Spooky Bird.

The Spooky Bird attacked Jed by tickling his hands, forcing him to let go of The Sandman’s hand, and fall.

Jed woke up as he was falling.

The Spooky Bird appears in Sandman # 11, on page 4.

In Sandman # 14, a host of serial killers descend upon a quiet hotel for a convention for people who take pleasure in killing others.

This man attended the Cereal Convention and was hanging out in the hotel lobby as Nimrod, the convention organizer, is trying to locate The Family Man, who is scheduled to be the guest of honor at the convention.

Tex appears in Sandman # 14, on page 3, in panel 1.

There is absolutely nothing know about this serial killer. He is dressed similar to a cowboy and so he likely operates in the southern United States, and quite possibly Texas. As with a majority of the serial killers in this issue, the reader is left to speculate on the brutality of the particular murders each of these killers commits.

Ghost Cat # 4 (illustrated by Lukas Ketner)

In Season of Mists, Bast tells Morpheus that she will tell him the location of Destruction in exchange for The Key To Hell. Ultimately this does not sway Dream’s decision and Bast leaves The Dreaming empty handed.

In Brief Lives, Dream calls upon Bast hoping to discover Destruction’s whereabouts. Dream and Bast meet in a dream, in her lost city. There are several ghostly cats wandering through the desert.
