Venice Citizen # 1 (illustrated by Max Rugers)

Around 1271, Marco Polo began his expedition to China with his father and uncle.

Their departure was attended by several citizens of Venice and this man is one of those who watched the travelers leave.

This character appears in Sandman # 39, page 13, panel 3.

I love that Max took this character that is barely more than a human shaped smudge and turned him into a character that is unique and that looks awesome. I love the colors that Max used bringing this character to live.
