Demon # 92

I love this little guy.

He's barely noticable in Preludes And Nocturnes, but I always thought he was sort of cool...you know...for a background character.

I think Scott did a fantastic job on this Demon, even though he was wasn't sure if he liked him.

Agony and Ecstacy

Today we are in for a treat. Not only do we get two awesome characters, but we also get those two characters from start to finish.

Agony and Ecstacy appear in Preludes And Nocturnes. After Choronzon is defeated by Morpheus, Lucifer called Agony and Ecstacy to come and take Choronzon to his punishment.

Scott did an excellent job distinguishing these two characters from each other and, once again, gave them a life of their own.

Demon # 23

This demon appears on the double page spread from Preludes And Nocturnes when Morpheus is searching for his stolen helmet.

Scott and I both agree that this demon is a quintessential Sam Kieth character. He sort of reminds me a lot of the Iz from the MAXX series.

Demon # 33

Tonight I am happy to present another Demon from Preludes and Nocturnes.

This one is easy to spot.

Demon # 21 (From Start To Finish)

Today is an extra special treat. We get to see Scott's process from start to finish with one of the demons from Preludes And Nocturnes.

This demon is pretty prominent on the double page spread from Sandman # 4.

Scott started with some rough sketches trying to get a feel of how he wanted to represent the character. Here are four examples of his rough sketches.

Scott then found a sketch that he liked and he inked that drawing.

Finally, once the drawing was inked he added the color and finished the drawing.

Demon # 25

Here is another Demon.

This Demon, as you might suspect, is from Preludes And Nocturnes. He is in the double page spread and is not obvious unless you really sit down and look for him.

As usual Scott did an excellent job with this little guy. He made him pretty creepy.

Demon # 14

Today we have another Demon.

Instead of one of the many demons from Preludes And Nocturnes this little guy is one of the demons who appear inside the Globe Of Salaiman Ben Daoud. This globe contained 9,009 Ifrits, Djinn and Demons. Haroun Al Raschid threatened to shatter this globe is the King Of Dreams, Morpheus, did not appear to him and grant him his fondest wish.

This story is told in Ramadan (Sandman # 50), which is one of the most popular Sandman stories from the entire series.
